I tried various and found one of them yellow flocked ones that are for cladding. Its seems to work ok on my black van without any scratching.
Although most brushes do a poor job on my van.

The old Vikan is the one we use which is designed for car cleaning. We have a dedicated vehicle brush.

I'm sure Alex once said that his brushes were designed for window cleaning which use different bristles to ones used in automotive applications. Not sure whether that still applies or not.

Whilst (as Spruce said) our brushes are designed primarily for glass cleaning there are 3 of them that can safely be used on most car bodywork without causing damage.

1. Cladding brush (soon to be discontinued)
2. Sill Flocked
3. Ultimate Flocked

All of these brushes use only flocked bristles thereby giving a gentle clean on paintwork. Even with this I would recommend being careful when scrubbing hard in one area not to over polish it compared to the rest.

A truck/car brush funny enough are more suited than any gardiner brush.

Or you can have a snow foam party instead and go touchless  ;D

I used to use the cladding brush with no problems, switched to the flocked sill brush & it works even better!
As it's not being used at height there's no real issue with weight.
Extra bristles on the flocked sill helps with the clean & the splay of the bristles reduces any risk of clattering painted surfaces with the brush stock... the cladding brush was a bit scarier to use as I think it's a 0 degree brush (I might be wrong on that).
Have used both brushes on mine & my missuses vehicles with no problems or marks on the paintwork.
Hope that helps.

Thanks.

Just a thought - that site for the Vikan brish doesn't show any jets.  Others do, so might be worth a check that they do or a look around for someone who fits them.

[Edit] Maybe http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/SKU4719.html - think it's the same brush but not certain.

Frightening how the price of those brushes has gone up over the last 10 years - just over double. The ones we bought initially had the jets fitted as well.

Here's a better priced one although its not the oval shape.

Easy to drill holes and fit jets from an old brush.
