My encounter today ... (with the gruesome twosome) New
« on: May 25, 2016, 11:26:50 am »
Doing a first clean earlier this morning in Clifton Bristol - 3 storey Victorian house. If you can see the pic, I was doing the one to the left of the guy up the ladder.

Anyway, I'm just running the hose to the first window when this little old white van with loads of ladders on top with a hi viz tied to the back rung pulls up and one of the two inmates onboard shouts out "You wanna get up a ladder mate!"

I can see him in the reflection of the window so don't bother turning round and carry on.

So then there is the tell tale clatter of ladders and shouting between the two of them as to how "they like to do a proper job" largely for my benefit.

I finish the fronts before them and drive round the back and am just finishing the backs when they drive round and go up the lane which I thoughtfully left clear for them by running my hose from the road.

So they start on the backs as you can see in this pic but not before clocking me cleaning a fanlight above two old french doors trad. "That's right clean it properly!" Calls out the more vocal of the two.

I pack away and hand my cup back to the householder and notice that one of their ladders is propped up in the lane so immaturely I take a piece of paper and place it on the bottom rung and write:

"Bit slow today lads?" When I was trad I would have had that done in half the time! And of course I put a smiley face on it!
It's a game of three halves!
