Anyone got any idea why my Pure Freedom Flowmaster Digital controller won't work with a backpack pump. Was having no problems with it with the Sureflo. But with the backpack pump it just randomly turns itself off. I've tried auto cal which appears to work until you start using it, then after a moment or so it shuts itself off again. When  I turn it back on it has reset the flow to 50% when I had it set to 99%. The guys at Pure Freedom tell me it should work. But it doesn't!

Back pack pumps don't draw much current when compared to Shurflo pumps.

As controllers are all about amp draw for calabration it could be that the controller is 'confused' with how much current the pump is using.  The backpack we have draws 2.2 amps where our Shurflos can be as high as 6 amps.

If the controller works with the Shurflo but doesn't work with the backpack pump, the backpack pump is the problem.

If Ian Sheppard sees this post he may have another suggestion or why not email him.

Thanks Spruce. I was hoping Ian would see it, and must admit I was wondering if what you said was the problem. My old analogue controller works fine, just not the digital.

If you read this Mr Sheppard  can you offer some insight as to why this controller won't work with the above pump?
