Pricing render cleaning
« on: April 27, 2016, 10:18:09 am »
Morning guys

I've been asked to price up a few big blocks for render cleaning. Normally for domestic I charge a day rate no matter how long it took the guys. (unless it was more than a day)

Is there a price per meter square that you guys charge? Render clean with black wash to remove all the crap then bicodal wash to finish.

Any help would be great

For me no different than residential look at the job estimate the time to do it + chems + high access + any other factors - road closure licence  - environmental issues ( rivers etc ) public safety.

I liked your video using hypo, looks like good stuff.

I'm using the stuff from Benz, when I've used it all, I'll try out hypo.

If it's called black wash it's just hypo with an added soap in it  ::)roll

Going to do a quote next week on this Georgian house, the owner wants a demo if possible which I have agreed to, as it's a large project 32 bedrooms.. not sure if I should use algo pro clear or hypo at at 3% any thoughts?  As this could make it break my yr as they want grounds around the property cleaned as well. Their last quote to repaint the render was a whopping £60,000. 😯

That looks a bit of a rough place - hypo would be my weapon of choice and charge 10% of what the repainting would cost.

You need to inspect that the render isn't suffering cracks or flaking - if it is then repair work is required either by you or a decorator, if that's the case then I'd drop the price by around 1/2 . If it's all sound and no other works required then you've restored the place for a bargain price.

Going by the repainting quote still that would be an easy 12k one-off job methinks assuming all the building walls are render without any repairs required,

Then you could offer a yearly render treatment package at a reduced rate to keep the place looking nice.

How long do you think it will take to clean?
