Hi all.
I had a call from a guy last week to come and have a look at at couple of carpets. They were a bit of a mess. Full of stains, discolouring and generally sh***y.
I gave him my realistic expectations and quoted what I thought was a reasonable £110.00.
He was shocked at that and said he had been quoted half of that. I did knock a tenner off but couldn't agree a deal so walked away. It was a terrible job after all.
Last night I get a call from him. He said I have to hold my hands up. Over the weekend he went a bought a VAX machine for £199. Said he thought he could clean the whole house and more. However, he tried it and the stains are still in situ. I was intrigued and agreed to visit again today.
1) He has used too much solution (a rug doctor cleaning product). There are big stains and once the carpet has dried, the job is worse than ever.
2) Obvious no vacuum or pre-spray as now all the much is mix in with the hard carpet solution
3) Loads of missed areas.
So he has asked me to clean up his mess. I have agreed to do this. Advised him to take the VAX back to the Range and see if they will give him his money back. I should have charged him a bit more but felt a bit sorry for the clown. His embarrassment was punishment enough. I will come on here and show the before and after pics.
How on earth do us professionals educate these muppets?
