Company name been copied...

Has anyone had any issues with someone copying your company name (just turned the name around). Copied the branding etc?

If so what did you do about it.

Our company  has been steadily growing over the past few years. When we started to get noticed several companies with the same initials sprang up within a 10 mile radius. On even tried to use our google place and substitute their address.  When we moved over to deep cleans and changed the van signage, suddenly every d*ck and his brother was doing deep cleaning (even though they hadn't a clue what it involved).
Our response was to be better than the others and develop a personal rapor with new and existing clients.  Giving the clients a contact name to ask for when enquiring was a big step forward. Ie : when you telephone us ask for n!
In the end ignoring the others and being better was the best option as many of them have sunk without trace.
With your company name I'd change it to cabbage&potatoes, no-one would want to copy that!  ;D

There's not really a lot you can do about someone copying your name - just be flattered I guess  ;D

But there's a lot you can do to manage your branding. Be active on social media and get as many likes and reviews as you can. Also beef up your Google Business listing by having awesome content and original photos and getting lots of 5 star reviews to make sure you beat everyone else out of the water.

A good, well-written website, with lots of relevant information and optimised for search engines should help, keeping the competition at arm's length.  A good SEO company should be able to get you ranking well so you can leave the others behind. These guys are lazy and unprofessional, otherwise they wouldn't be taking the easy option of ripping off someone who is successful. So do all the things that they aren't prepared to do.

Offline you can build your reputation by networking and being seen in your community.

Good luck - it's a real pain when others try to cash in on your success, but at least you're doing something right!
