Five Groats?
Im toying with idea of adding power washing to my services, asked a customer today if shes had any quotes for her bricked drive to be cleaned. Curious to what the going rate is in my areas. I soon found out i asked wrong customer. It was a big drive, i was thinking around 400 plus. She said a gypsy gave her a quote about six months bk and was a silly price. That she could get some weed/drive cleaner chem many times over and brush it in herself and still have change. So i said was curious to know price. She said 40 quid!! I did laugh, tried not to but did
id want £250-£300 for a full UPVC clean esp if their really bad with gutter clearing too.5 hours max i reckon from pulling up to driving away.normally i refuse gutter clearing but would relent on a one off(bucket, ladders, trad pole and gutter tool)was she expecting around £100?
Put it this way she was a wee bit short of my quote and I thought she was going to have a heart attack when I told her. What made me laugh though the old boy pipes up to the old girl "you get what you pay for dear." At least he doesn't seem to be living in the past and wants a proper job done. What made me laugh even more their house is worth over a million so the old lady is not that daft after all methinks.
Sorry I mean the look on there face when you give them the correct price, the look on there face when your about to give them a figure is the look of anticipation followed by disappointment. Old people try it on they are not stupid they just think everyone else is,she new it would be more than that price she paid before she was just hoping you were as daft and would be as cheap as the last one.
