Problem with window cleaning is it doesn't take long for staff to feel they are being short changed by near minimum wage when they could build a round of there own.  They realise it's not rocket science to start cleaning a few on a weekend with a backpack or a ladder and before you know it they are doing 2 days on there own, sacking in the job and making what they made when they were employed.

Lost a good member of staff and got more competition in the area. I see how franchising can make the franchisee stay on as they are more directly involved in changing their income.

Most on here that employ I would think do so with 1 staff member joining them on the van. This works as you can keep an eye on them.

I think Lee employs now and doesn't franchise. I could be wrong though.

Window cleaning is a very scalable business and once you have a bit of cash behind you it it relatively easy to keep the momentum of new customers coming in at a faster rate than the ones you have dumped or the ones which have cancelled.

I think Lee's business plan is a winner myself.

1,000,000.00 leaflets delivered. Hit rate of 0.4% = 4000 new customers. Print & Distribution =£85,000.00

Price per new customer =£21.25

Lee's average customer price on Cleaner Planner £22.00

I think it's a fantastic idea. The only thing I'd concider is employing a full time canvasser.  10k for a brand new sign written small car. Put him on 25 k a year so you attract someone who knows what there doing and 25 k for leaflets fuel etc for two years. I'd like to think in two years a full time professional canvasser would be able to fill 3-4 vans with 2 employees in each with full time work.  This way your don't spend your life on the phone with new call and you can target whatever work you want ... ...

Did you expect everyone to idolise you for your ideas on developing your business? You have posted a topic which is open to question so you should be man enough to take the replies both positive and negative.

This is what occurred to me would be a better use of money. It would take longer but it would be more manageable.

Of course I don't expect people to idolise. Again that question shows the mentality on here. What I expected is some people would be interested to learn more and some might think it wasn't a good idea.

It's got nothing to do with being man enough and is yet another example of how hard it is here to have a mature and useful conversation about anything other than at MODDED brush or pole!

To be honest, that (like many other of your posts) wasn't very mature and useful either.
