Hope it goes well for you...not having family ties definitely makes it easier to take gambles

I would like more money coming in however, I like the relaxed, flexible lifestyle I have at the mo, This is due to operating on a franchised basis with 5 vans

I imagine you have already looked into it as you are increasing your prices, Don't under estimate the extra costs involved in running a larger business

I'd like to ask about the co-ordination of this project Lee. At what point are you going to start leafletting and in co-ordination with that when are the new vans arriving?

What about new staff? Where are they coming from and how much experience will they have?

Can you give a time-line of when everything that you talk off is going to be implemented, including recruitment of new staff in accordance with when the work starts coming in, admin, office etc.

Please Lee.

Definitely brave. Got to say though I would  be putting far more energy into picking new business up and less into multiple vans and a posh office.  Good luck

If it was me I would be looking to invest into some other business maybe a partnership when you both invest 250k,and as for the bloke who was banging on about you wanting your 50" screens he's just jealous m8 if you think oh can do it to for it but I can see it being a logistical nightmare. I think Duncan Banatyne invested in something similar but it failed I think I can remember reading.

Yep he funded the opening of unit in my town with new window cleaning vans and all. Then shut it down shortly afterwards as it was unprofitable. The two lads are still going apparently and doing quite well  but that unit (regional office) was a big fallure on all accounts.  I rememder also seeing the vans etc up for sale too which is how I found out that they closed it down.

Just goes to show that not all grand expantion plans work as I'm sure they learnt a big lesson from that one.

If there was money to be made out of it on a huge scale he would have had a go the 2 lads on the programe said between them they were doing around 5-6k a month and wernt running, that made his ears prick up me thinks.

5-6K  month is actually pretty mediocre for two guys.

I got an idea. Why doesn't OP buy 125,000 lottery tickets? Got to have a better chance of becoming a millionaire that way.

It seems very few of the posters on this site have any common sense. There is only me and Mick Kent who can see through this cr4p.

Ay, ay, steady on. Im not so sure about it actually.

I reckon the implementation of it on a daily basis, day in day out, week after week isn't going to be quite as straight forward as it might have first been assumed. Id imagine the level of office work is going to be horrendous. Fielding enquiries, chasing bad debt, cash-flow, health and safety, keeping thirteen vehicles on the road with all associated cleaning kit and spare parts, managing the round(s) and ensuring all staff get round their work in a timely, professional and acceptable manner is going to be a nightmare.

I think more staff to manage the operation are going to be needed for starters and keep it on the road, keep it operating, turning over, bringing in money and keeping the cash-flow moving, big time. As well as staff issues, where are these staff coming from? No-ones addressed that yet although the question has been asked. 8 full-time, honest, professional, polite drivers that are 'people-friendly'? Hmm, thats like rocking-horse poope isn't it?

It's a slightly different business plan to Solar Steves anyway.

Lee has 8 vans on the road with 2 girls in the office.

Solar Steve has 2 vans on the road with 8 girls in the office.
