Again lots more good posts and questions. I cant answer them all but there are plenty of good reasons why im doing it the way I will be.

I wont go into the nitty gritty on it all today. I think it will be more fun to get the ball rolling over the next few months then do an update video.

We're gonna need a bigger boat.

So i wasnt going to say anything about all this until next year when hopefully its worked. But I thought it would be fun to chart the journey.

Im about to take a very big step and a big gamble in my finacial and business life.

I have sold my house to invest 1/4 million pounds (the equity) in my business which currently has 5 vans with me in a little (and very cold) office! Im moving back in with my parents and renting the spare room from them.  Its all going through on thursday this week.

My investment is as follows.

Vehicles

I have bought 8 brand new renault traffic vans currently at Ionic systems being fitted with the same 700L systems we already use. I have financed all of this £160K over 5 years.

Office

My office is being doubled in size and proffesionallly fitted out from floor to celling including 2 wall mounted 50" screens to display vehicle trackers, schedual on cleaner planner ect.  3 new computers. ISDN2 phone system for multiple lines, transfer ability ect, fully fitted kitchen ect. I will be taking on 2 full time office staff to join me.

static system

Ionic are building me a completely bespoke static system of 9000L, not going for parts per billion but has all the same features like boosted fill, auto flush, with stainless steel filters ect. 4 transfer pumps so 4 vans can fill at the same time.

Marketting

I will be doubling our covered area this year and doing my usual leafletting drops with jog post. This year however its the volume that will be a first in the industry. I have ordered 1 million leaflets to be printed and delivered costing £85K I saw the first run of 300K being printed last week which was pretty exciting. I hope to get 6000 customers from that this year so fingers are very crossed right now.

Into next year

I hope to reach a point where we can continue to grow at this rate under our own finacial steam, leaving me some of the money for the next deposit on a house. This project takes us to 13 vans this year (I hope!) then we plan to purchase another handful next year with the ultimate goal being the 15-20 vehicle level.

Once we are a few months in I plan to make some video updates of the process. Just got a few more things to do over the next 2 -3 weeks before it all kicks off.

Brave or stupid?

You decide!
I wish you  every success with this as it's nowhere near my patch ;D. What jumps out at me tho is the fact you have invested £250 000 in the business but you have still had to finance £160 000 over 5 years for the vans ???

With 5 vans out you should be turning over 250k plus a year alone so why would you need to sell your house and move in with parents like a child to grow anymore??? At least rent or buy a flat, who in there right mind moves in with there parents in the spare room when they are a full grown man with a decent business, and income??
This is Better than Vin's 250k thread.. I wonder what company house comes up with for your business wealth..

If this isnt an April fools joke then your a brave man and i hope you do make it work.

Surely just one van alone should be doing £90 - £100k a year? Thats at full capacity, out every day.

The bit about spending £85,000 on a million leaflets including printing and having them delivered did make me chuckle I must admit. That is an absolute bonkers way to spend that kind of money surely as for instance you are on about getting good deals you could have bought your own printing press for that and started up your own printing firm too.  ::)roll

Good one lee. This shows conviction in your abilities. 12 years in the game is long enough and i know how you feel.

Id love to be able to do what you are doing. You probably already know this but please please please if you havent already get yourself a CHARTERED accountant. I didnt and paid the price.

I have been building my business back since i lost it all back in 2009 and im at around £55k turnover, most of my work is bi monthly so one month is fully booked up monday to Friday and the other is about a week and half Monday to friday.  Problem  i have now is the time to canvas on busy months. I can only do canvassing on my alternative months for now. Im hoping to hit £75k by the end of 2016 and have someone work for me.

I wish you the best i really do. Keep us posted. Last person i think did this in a big way was Powerclene anyone know what happened to him?

2 guys in a van should be able to do £2k a week surely? Based on 48 weeks a year its £400 a day. If I was spending that much on marketing etc I'd make sure each van is at full capacity, so two guys working in a van should be able to do at least £90k a year.

Fair play to you.
If you Belive in something that much then you have to follow it up and nothing says dedication like putting  your house on the line.

There seem to be more  and more on here that if someone is doing better than them or there earning more than them then it it can't be done  or true.

Some times big plans need big investment. A couple of years ago a window cleaning  firm got an investment of 3 million they now turn over 10million a year with the aim to turn 50million in 5 years time .
There are no limits to your business only thing that will slow you down is financing it.

Personally I wouldn't have the balls or want the streets of it  but I wish you all the best and hope it works for you.

You could have invested 250k in a property and lived with your parents for 5 years and make most of it back once over,I know for a fact that's possible but Dave will come on here in a mo and say look out Charlie big balls is back on here again lol.

Some funny posts there.

Bungle that really is the cost so no im not talking out my harris.

Yes I have a chatered accountant and have for years.

Another interesting one was one of you asked why would I finance vehicles if I had a lump sum. So i only spend on growth not equipment.

Im not spending 250 im spending 150 so i still have a house deposit.

Why live with parents? Because its the cheapest option thats why.

Im 35 not 32.

I will not need to store leaflets since I will never see them, they get printed then they go to london before being delivered where I want them.

No I could not by a press and print them since im told the machine that does that cost 300k. having seen it i can believe it.

1 per van, by now everyone on here should know that way earns more money.

Everything im doing has been well thought out over a long time. Everything im doing and the way/order im doing it has a reason behind it. I really dont want to spend time going into every minor detail just because someone here doesnt get it. I simply put it out there since its not been done before and I thought it would be fun to let you all in on it and then later make some progress videos.

My first trial univalve arrived today. very impresive on first glance........ There back to normal forum stuff.  Sorry if my plans have offended you.
