Need advice- Needle Punch Carpet
« on: March 23, 2016, 03:14:29 pm »
Many offices here in Germany have Needle Punch Carpet... I did  clean a few of them but never got really good results . Cleaned them with with Encap Solution, my rotary and a white floor pad.

How do you clean this very thin and hard kind of carpet?  A big problem for me was the wick back of some spots...

Try using a brown/tan pad as they are slightly harsher, but the carpet can take it,  and it means that you won't have to spend so long agitating as it gets done quicker, and then when finished, go over it all again with either charley pad, or microfibre pad to help remove the moisture.. This will helpto prevent the moisture staying in the carpet.
Everyday this forum slips further from God.  :'(

Thanks Hector. I will try it. Needle Punch is very popular in offices here.

I always recommend extracting bad coffee stains prior to low moisture cleaning. If a full cup of coffee has been spilt the pad will remove the top couple of milimitres and it will look fine. But as people walk over the area foot compression can bring the remaining coffee back to the surface.

Thanks John. You are right. Will try it. The needle Punch is always a challenge for me...

Perfektes Deutsch :).

As you mention Bernd the big problem with commercial carpets is they are never vacuumed properly so have a very high dry soil load. Its importatnt to try and remove as much of this as possible before low moisture cleaning. Pile lifters are the best machine for this but hard to come by.

Yes it is crazy. On one of my last jobs with needle punch carpet i vaccumed only 5 - 8 sq/ metres and the bag of my sebo was half full! Incredible how they care about their carpets...

Did last week another needle punch carpet job. 220 sq/metres- last time cleaned 16 years ago...
Tried a few things but the most effective way was using the Charly pads followed by the SuperZorbs. Got good results and carpet was dry after 1 hour.
