What I meant is I'm not having a go at Richy for what he went to prison for or that he went to prison.

Being in prison would have been a perfect time to get all debts written off.

There is a difference between 'having you debts wiped if you go to prison' and as I wrote, 'being in prison is a perfect time to get the debts written off'.

Richy was a student at the School Of Hard Knocks for a couple of years too after studying to become a pharmacist  so probably didn't save a lot. Did he get a degree in dispensing?
