Mods to Airflex Storm (applies to Airflex Turbo too)
« on: March 19, 2016, 07:27:35 pm »
Saw the other day someone on YouTube had the recovery tank filter taken off from the bend section and fitted straight up (removing the bend) giving more space to the tank effectively. So more time in between stops - anybody got experience of this setup?

It looks like quite a simple and productive modification.

could be worthwhile , there is plenty of space in the ' bubble' top to bring the stack pipe right up to the bottom of the bubble at least  ,   downside  ....   the bend on the original stack contains the ' ball and cage ' high level cutoff , so what u gonna do for that .  U would have to fit an electric float switch a couple of inches below your new stack height . Or do with out it but u have to empty often to make sure your water is not near the top .
wonder did they remove the bend to gain usable volume or did they think the bend was causing airflow restriction or something .

if i am understanding this right - you are saying your stack bends over like it does on the old Ninja machine i have

i also have an Airflex Turbo which has not been modified but already has a stack that has no bend - just a hole with a filter at the top

if thats the case, then Cleansmart have gone to the bended stack at a later date - ie on newer machines

you would just have to check the baffling on the lid etc is ok for it - i know the Airflex had reported problems in the earlier days with sucking water through to the motors so i think they modified the lids to stop it. If they have gone to a U bended stack - maybe the lid is different too?

float switch
Ok .
This is the only alternative i think iv seen to either a ball / cage or a float switch  ...   not sure id trust it if the stack gets sticky with mud ... but might work ok
its at 6.15
this body is the replacment for the older ninja btw
