I gave this a go today as a pre-spray on an EOT full of cheap berber  .   Its not sold as a carpet product but it seems perfectly usable . I saw it in a local wholesale place , its like only £6 for 5liters . 
I was attracted by the orange terpene content and the 13.1 PH .   Should be fine for the nasty cheap stuff.
