Dynamall

Have done a few jobs recently with Dynamall, and have had breathing problems is it just because I have asthma or has anyone else had similar issues?

Its a strange one, a few cc ers have commented about the smell, a few cc ers saying it made them cough etc   i use a fair bit of it and ive never had any issue with it, only ever had clients commenting on how nice it smells.........

Perhaps it is just with having  asthma

I don't have Asthma,  and neither do any of my colleagues, and it makes us all cough.  Even when we are doing commercial carpets and staff are in, they start coughing.   I use the recommended dilution rate,  depending on the traffic on the carpets, and no matter what the recommended dilution rate we do, we still cough.

Once that's calmed down, we always get told how nice the smell is, even the day after!

A number of pre sprays can irritate the throat and mucus membranes. When it is atomised in the air we breath it in, fed through from an on board tank it shouldn't be a problem.

Makes me cough a bit as well though not as much as the earlier batches with the bigger mix ratio.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Peroxide I think.

I don't think it's the peroxide, as I use Releasit which has it in.  To me it might be the strongness of the smell (odour ) in the dynamall.  Could do with being toned down some. Once again, fantastic product, apart from the smell.   It's a shame it doesn't smell just like surround, as I think the smell of surround is top notch.

How does Releasit compare to Dynamall Darran?
Got a 2 day commercial over Easter w/e might compare the two.

I would say Releasit is better! ...  Dynamall is still very good, just the coughing.   Have you tired ds2?

I'm fine with it... Takes a lot to get me coughing, (one reason when my wife wants to spend my money). I'm still convinced its the deodoriser in Dynamall. John Kelly might be able to shed some light.

Dynamall is used by a large Franchise company with approx. 26 franchisees.  All of these have been asked and not one of them has had any issues.  Dynamall is probably one of our biggest sellers.  We've had an encap machine out on trial for the past week with one of the franchisees using Dynamall.  For the first time he reported that it made him cough.  He's used the same product for years without any problem before this.   He thinks that the jet on the machine was too fine and was causing aerosolization  of the product.  Maybe the solution is to use a coarser jet in your sprayer and making sure you spray close to the carpet.

I tried DS2, Punch and HydrOx. They are very good! Especially DS2. It is very economic. Unfortunally i can not get anymore. i will try Dynamall and Omega Profresh as my alternatives.

On heavy solied carpets i used Punch as a prespray, agitated with my CRB and then used DS2 for shampooing with a white floor pad. Works great! Although the Encap Spot from Releasit is great!

Maybe it's the places it's used in that causes it......little or no ventilation and as John says use it closer to carpet....I took the wife with me on one at Xmas and she was coughing as well although it didn't seem to bother the security guy.
