Cheers Derek.
I've already completed the Marblelife course and really enjoyed it. Can't have too much training though so will take a look. Although I think it might be too late to do the march 5/6
Don't get mixed up Alex or caught up in a level of progress that is not achievable. Regardless of what Derek says, whilst enjoyable playing with the big stuff, you need classroom work as you have to understand the theory and the basics then you need to gain experience! Then you advance to stone restoration pick up more experience and then on to concrete. You are in my opinion following the right path. Basic quality Mono Rotary first, then move on to a Levighetor and gain more experience and then add a concrete kit and then slowly progress to the level you are happy at. At least this way you are in touch with reality doing it your way and not just having a pipe dream. In other words you are learning to walk before you run! Naturally we are not the only training centre and of course as Derek points out there are other courses available such as Restore mate or Mike at Nulife but any good instructor from any of them will agree with me!
Don't forget lots of these big machines are beyond many peoples reach financially and once you have mastered a Levighetor all the big stuff is the same they just have bigger diamonds and a faster work rate (Just like driving, once you can drive a car you can drive anything with more experience. HGV's are just big cars with more wheels). This is the reason we have a hire service for bigger machines!!! If you need a furniture moving lorry now and again you hire, not buy one
The machine in the Video is a Klindex Expander 750, the same as we let everyone have a go with on the free Klindex Course on the 3rd day of every basic course we run. You also get the opportunity to use and play with:
Klindex Rocky
Klindex Waterfire
Klindex UFO
Klindex Levighetor Single & Variable Speed
Klindex Extrema
Klindex Hercules
Klindex Levighetor Max
Klindex Expander
Klindex Vertika
Klindex Quadra
Training & Knowledge are vital because once you arrive at a clients house especially at stone restoration level you need to instil confidence at that level and it only comes with experience and ongoing help. Talking the talk and walking the walk are two different things especially with grinding. Standing in front of a client and telling them your not quite sure doesn't cut it at that level because of the money involved and you will very likely lose the job.
I will chat more with you on Friday!
