I Think it was 1:40 or whatever it says on the container. Haven't got one to hand at the moment

So 1l of algoclear will make 40l of cleaner and still be able to clean bad walls like that?

Hi, Sorry to hijack the thread, however I was researching Soft washing (isn't everyone?) and I notice a few years ago people were discussing buying DDAC against the branded version, so thought I would ask here as we are on the subject.  has anyone done a comparative test? Thanks.

You can buy 50% concentrate DDAC for less than algoclear pro (40%)  http://mistralni.co.uk/collections/biocides/products/didecyldimethylammonium-chloride

It would not surprise me if the branded product is made in the same factory either. Still I would rather pay more for the branded product myself as is easier to sell being approved by K Rend and all.

Yes, 1:40 but I applied it via the pole, turned off the flow then brushed it in well. I finished off with a second overspray only.

Many thanks.

I've got my first algoclear job to do soon but nowhere near as bad as that one. Seen plenty like that though so good to know you don't need to use loads or that strong a mix to still get good results.

Yesterday I asked if I could borrow my missus measuring jug to measure out algoclear pro so could get the right dilution rate.
Needless to say it was a big fat no and quite a few expletives added in the reply too so I had to go and buy my own. Cost a whopping £2.49 and I got a set of 3 different sizes for that. What a bargain I thought but I'm not going to tell the missus I've now got 3  ;D

First day on that job yesterday but did not get very far as spent a good part of the day trying to remove hundreds of spider nests & cobwebs from around and under that rear canopy and upper deck.  Apparently they have the property sprayed every year to kill the spiders and nests but the crap is just left up there so after 10 years you can imagine the state of it.

I got so peed off I had a break from that so cleaned the front paths wooden footbridge and entrance. Once that was done the penny dropped so I made up a different tool to get right into the returns of the walls using 6m carbon guttervac poles to suck those pesky hard to remove spider nests and cobwebs.

I'm not really looking forward to going back today as the rest of the walls, soffits, window frames & Juliet balcony glass are also covered in spider nests & cobwebs which is all going to be a pain in the arse to do properly.

Oh and top top things off I bought a titan 20 ltr wet/dry vac that has blow function from screwfix that I thought might come in handy. When I thought I had put the wheels on properly as I carried it into the  house all four wheels fell off.  :D

Oh the joys of taking these sorts of jobs on  ;D

One more to go so total of 3 days Smudger so your pricing was more accurate than mine on that one.

Still client is over the moon with the results thus far so  now wants a yearly exterior maintenance clean including, paving, wooden footbridge, render treatment, decking cleaned,  gutters checked and cleared etc plus a regular window clean including all balcony glass to keep the property looking smart.

Not forgetting the nightmare I had with the spider nests & cobweb removal as basically lost a day sorting that lot out including all patio doors and frames openers cleaned from the inside too.

Even the client commented that they should have not left it so long to get in such a state as they realised how hard I've been working and was not an easy job to do properly.

Had to laugh today as was quite blustery at times so when brushing in that algoclear on the walls it looked like it was snowing. Next door did give me a funny look as she passed the side window as thought I was having a foam party or something. Just hope those pair of swans that greeted me this morning at the front of the property are still alive and kicking.  ;D

I could not be bothered to take before and after pics on that one but it does look a wee bit cleaner than when I started.

Next time I'm neraby on my wc round sometime this week I will pop back over and have another go at those stupid glass juliet balconies I could not do at the time.  The wagtail jetstream I've ordered should delivered tomorrow. Also will try a magic erazor mop head which has also been sugested by Tadgh if I can get one local that is. Then afterwards I may take some after pics of the rest of the property I cleaned too.

Good job I popped back to that property as all the glass had horrendous run marks on them. I could not believe the state they were in as I left them all spotless.  ???

It must have happened after it rained over the last few days and washed the remains of algoclear off the walls and window returns onto the glass again.  Also the white sills were also covered in dead midges amongst other insects too that again were left spotless before my return today. All I can say it’s a good job the chap did not see it in such a state as he would have not been happy.

Mind you the k rend walls came up very clean so I will just have to remember that one for the next job I do.
