I have it the other way round for some reason. Female rectus on hose reel with male on pole hose with tap and sponge ball protector.
But thinking about it I think I may prefer it your way round so I may change it about when I next need to change them.

Female Pro 026 on microbore hose to Pro 026 male on pole hose with tap at brush head.
About as simple as it gets with no broken springs or communication issues.

We spend so much saving weight on poles and brushes and then fit a heavy rectus fitting  it`s so old school. Use the lite weight  nylon fitting. They never leak and are great. Always use the male fitting on the pole as female cost more and you will only need one and on the pole the male is cheaper and you will have more poles.

This is my set up:

Then in an holster, wrapped around my waist to another holster, leaving main hose trailing behind me. So its not a trip hazard. The holster n tap by my side, no extra weight on pole n no worry of leak or smashing connections on floor!

same.works well and rectus 26 last longer than the 21s.the pole hose taps fitted at brush end last years as their not getting dragged along the ground.
price higher/work harder!

I used to have flow control on the pole when I first switched over. Lasted a day. Pole hose to tap and then hose from tap to main hose and then the hose. Waaaaay too many hoses dangling by feet. So now its simple. Pole hose via male rectus clips to female rectuse connected to tap valve which my main hose is directly connected to. Pop in a holster on my hip, easy to reach n operate.
