Wfp progress report
« on: February 05, 2016, 07:28:17 pm »
After a stressful week working  by myself I managed to get some help today. A guy started today  with me who has plenty of experience Window cleaning wfp. Anyway I was shocked at his speed and organisation with the pole and hose etc. I have been trading the bottoms and I think I will continue in that manner as I don't think bottoms are that much faster with the pole (I may be wrong.)  and also for the few customers who still like the old fashioned way but got that based covered. Not one complaint about the system so far and customers generally happier as I can clean more glass.  To be honest they didn't give a monkeys and generally looked bored when I was explains the pure water blah blah I'm boring myself with it😂. Takings were well up on what I'd normally do in a 2 man team, (Around 30 per cent).  I used to be anti wfp but now I think I'd rather change jobs than go back On ladders.   Next step is a gutter vac, then hopefully  ladders will be a distant nightmare. Thanks for everyone's help and I'm just glad I can now do a little sn****r  when trad cleaners say it's better like I used to . 😆

Good on ya Ashbash!

Seriously it does get easier with practice and more importantly confidence in your ability to walk away from wet windows knowing they'll dry perfectly clean.

I would love to but unfortunately there's some window cleaners in the area who think wfp means putting fairy on the brush and cleaning and rinsing with normall tap water. You can imagine the results this leaves and the general conception in my area in the pole is crap because of this. One firm that does this are one of the larger ones in the area. There's some horror stories around and these travel faster than the guys who try to do a decent job on the pole. This is why I don't want to push the boat to much till I've got it cracked.

And usually there are more bottoms than tops on a property. Do the lot wfp.
The only exception I make is if they have an old leaky door or if the water is likely to freeze in which case I may do the doors trad. or put some salt down.
It's a game of three halves!

That's one problem iv come across, new build houses with crappy wooden doors that let water in , gonna have to start wiping them down with a cloth instead.

The above reasons are some of the reasons I'm still deciding against. Also working in a two man set up with one on the bottoms collecting a payment seems to work a treat. I agree it would be faster of course. My main problem is my vito is a weekend van for the kids with seats in the back. There is only enough room for a 325 tank. So bar selling the van I'm snookered for the time being.
