Price increase by txt?
« on: February 01, 2016, 03:38:36 pm »
Hi all! I'm going to bump up a few prices starting in April ( underpriced work) , some customers I have never met and everything is arranged via txt message  & online banking .
How would you put it in a text message if it was your underpriced  customer?
Cheers 🙃

I wouldn't. I'd leave a note of their price increase with their next bill.

Started ours today basically it's a short note attached to the clean card posted through the letter box inside an envelope.

keep it simple, no waffle.

Ok so il leave a note for them -

'As of next month your window clean will be £x , .....? (No reason)

Or
'due to the cost of water production/insurance/fuel etc rising , I will be increasing my prices. Your next clean will be £x ' ?

Do we need a reason?

When was the last time your barber asked if it was ok to put the price up, or shop, it just goes up, you don't need to justify it,

Anyway fuel has gone down  ;) - minimum wage is up tho. ( + pension ) so as self employed you need to at least keep pace with these

Dear Mr and Mrs Custy,

As I have held my prices during the recession for several years there is a need to apply a modest increase so that I can replace my essential window cleaning equipment in the future.  I hope you understand the need for this and the new rate for your property will be £XXX as of and including next "clean".

Kind regards,

Lord of the Rungs window cleaning.

(I would print this out with gaps for writing in the amounts and staple it to their cleaning slip when you leave it. But you could text it I suppose.)
It's a game of three halves!

Sugar butties your right about fuel, yeah maybe I just need to be firm about it and if they no Likey , then no further cleans, my newer priced work is dwarfing my cheaper work and it only makes up a small % but it winds me up when I'm cleaning for a cheap price

I've text some to tell them I think it's fine to do it at the end of the day it doesn't matter how you get it over to them the price is going up if they don't want to pay more they won't,I nice neatly written note IMO will make no difference,in most cases if I have to leave a ticket I just out the new price on those,I looked back over old Diarys at the weekend and I couldn't believe how long it had been between rises I think during the recession a lot of windys just forgot about increasing prices TBH.
