Permanent marker on Altro
« on: January 26, 2016, 03:10:02 pm »
One of our customers is having a refit in their kitchen. ( big commercial kitchen )
The boss of the refit company has used a permanent marker to map out on the Altro the proposed layout of  the new ranges etc.
It is everywhere and none of it will  be covered when everything is installed.
They have tried white spirit, detergent, scourers and just about anything else you can think of but nothing is shifting it.
We will be cleaning the floors when everything is finished, so is there anything that may remove it.

You could try wd40, acetone or PEC 12 Photographic Emulsion Cleaner.

Good reply David to a tough problem, i would try the PEC 12 spray some onto the ink marks and allow 2 to 3 mins dwell time, then spray some PEC 12 onto a magic eraser pad and proceed to scrub the ink marks to see if you can erase them if it works great and if not you are goosed as the ink will have penetrated into the substrate and may never come out.

Thanks for that.
At the moment it is the refit company`s problem so I will let them know your suggestions.
PEC 12 at £15 for 60ml is going to be an expensive fix but still cheaper than replacement and .
