« on: January 25, 2016, 07:25:27 pm »
Been away for a few years abroad not prison
now back for a while been trad up to now but starting up again over the next few months building up the round again
going to run with a wfp set up need some advice
going for a 400 litre tank in the back of a connect 100m  minibore / reel  run from a genie in a box
so nice and simple for a days work
this is where help kicks in

1- what size pole / poles to run with
mainly domestic single and 2 storey also 3 storey town houses with velux etc
- really only want to buy 2 poles 3 at a push

Water purification
on a meter
hard water area
needs to produce I reckon 400 / 500 litres / day

25ft is ideal for domestics, reaches 3rd storey easily.

You"ll need an ro system, don't mess around with the small systems unless you want to take all night to fill 500litres.
Invest the money and get a 4021 or 4040 ro system with a booster pump.
Don't forget a di vessel to polish the water down to zero.

First thing you will need to do is get a tds reading on your water as this will determine what will be the most
economical way to filter it.
If its up in the hundreds then a RO will be the best way if its in double figures then because your metered a DI only
might be better.
If your going to buy two poles then get an SLX18 or 22 and an SLX30 for all the rest, for work any higher than this I would recommend something like an Xtreme,  but this will all depend on your budget and if needs be a CLX will more than do
your job.
Brushes are more of a personal thing and to be honest something your going to have to decide for yourself, I think the x line mono seems to popular on here at the moment but I have never used one so cant comment, the only brush I could never get on with was the Gardiner superlite and a lot seem to like it.

Gotta agree with Sean, I bought a clx as I was on a budget but now wish I'd bought an Slx , when you've not much work, a clx is fantastic but as the works grows, the pole feels heavier ( or maybe I'm getting weaker!  ;D )
can't go wrong with gardiners anyway, alex is always there to advise or his girls in the shop know their stuff too 👍

I've only used one pole for the past few years.
A 25ft SLX plus 2 additional sections (6+7) .
The 25ft SLX covers 99% of work and I add the extra sections for the higher jobs (30-35ft) which is only 3 or 4 jobs per month.

Thanks for the imfo lads
Makes things a lot clearer

I live in a area with a very high % of fairly large bungalows most of which have windows that are just to high to reach from the ground
are stumpy poles avaliable cant see anything on any websites say 4 / 6ft
just thinking a small lighter pole may be of use to me
also recommendations if anyone has any for a ro / Di supplier

You can buy smaller poles like this.........

http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/telescopic-poles/clx-ii-carbon-composite-pole/the-new-clx-4.html

Handle diameter is small, so can be uncomfortable to use. They have 3 section poles as well....

http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/telescopic-poles/clx-ii-carbon-composite-pole/the-new-clx-10.html

My advice would be to buy a 22 slx and a 30slx.

I would use a 25ft pole as normal pole due to collapsed length.

+1 on other lads posts pal. 40/40 membrane with 3 + stage filters. Check out thewatersite. They do carbon wraps. Bang three of those in and you won't need a sediment filter as they are 5micron. We use SLX 18 and 22 with extra sections 5,6,7 when needed.  It's personal choice really. Myself I prefer the 18 as I find it a fair bit lighter and thinner than the 22.  In the afternoon when your flagging makes a big difference.  22 will reach low level 3 storey work - makes it a good all rounder!

Good luck!

Give me a shout if you are interested in buying all you need to kit out a van. I've changed business and have a 400l baffled tank and frame, 22ft slx, gardiner brushes, leisure battery, pump, controller, reel and hose, backpack and loads of spares inc spare pump and controller etc etc etc. I can email you photos tomorrow. I am in Scarborough but it might be worth your while. All good quality equipment. I am only interested in selling everything at once though (just to save others messaging about individual bits :) )

Is anyone still using 3 stage filters?
All the groovy kids are using single Fibredyne filters nowadays!  :D
