« on: January 20, 2016, 05:45:34 pm »
I bought a 1000w oil filled  Electric Heater from Argos this morning its been on all day full setting and its not much better than warm to the touch any one else got one of these. Are they just crap or do you think it's knackered either way I'm not chuffed.

You want a convector with a fan on it mate- much more effective IMO. You can get them with timer + thermostat on too. Like this-

I agree with Chumbucket's suggestion for a convector heater.
Although I reckon 2Kw is more than adequate to heat a van up.
So I'd recommend this one: http://www.screwfix.com/p/ch-2001b-stand-convector-heater-2000w/76380

i personally think the convector heaters are a bit dangerous plugged in an extension lead in your van.far safer to have an oil filled radiator in the back IMO.

i had a cheap convector heater and it used to spark from the plug socket when plugging in and i just didnt trust it.
price higher/work harder!

I'm sure Argos buys in a load of crap goods or ones that haven't met the grade. I'm sick of taking hovers back Vax in particular. Changed one last week that only lasted for three months previous one lasted six months, one before that never lasted either.
Bought an HP laptop before Christmas opened it up and there's a fault on the screen, didn't have to switch it on to see it. Now everything you buy they're up selling the extended cover, why when it's not going to last 12 months!

I wanted to post the same but have already rubbed too many up the wrong way this week over products, but totally agree,
also the fans are prone to over heating which is not something you want to risk in an unattended van.
