I am only repeating what BBC weather said.

whether it's correct I don't know.
I'm only looking on the 5 day forecast on my mobile phone app so that might not be accurate as I've noticed what they say on TV compared to the app.is usually way off ;D

Hi I had a eberspacher night heater installed, bit expensive but its like having central heating in a van

Hi Chris & welcome to the forum.

I like the sound of that but just wondering does it have a frost protect setting?

On the subject about heaters I see xline now do a combo type heater install which heats the water also frost protects the van with the built in blower function.

you set it to come on like central  heating in your house,it blows warm air through the van  for as long as you want it to .it runs on diesel from the vans fuel tank

I have an immersion heater.

Goes on at 9pm, off at 6am, and keeps the bank of my van warm, while also giving me warm water to work with all day. Costs me about £2.50 overnight.

Before that I'd put an oil filled radiator in the back.

I do this except I find that 6 hours of heat (3kw) is enough for water in the low 20 degrees range and supple hoses in 400 litres of water.

I use a 2kw immersion, so probably similar.

In 9 hours my tank gets to about 35-40 degrees.

frost got me this morning   big time.
battery went flat,       luckilly a 3 year waranty on it,   lasted 14 months. ??  got it changed over , waited 1 hour for new battery to arrive. ::)roll :'(
pole hose all frozen,   in house around radiator,
reel frozen inner water,  changed reel.    luckilly have 2.
headed out then realised i never filled tank up ,  back home to refill van.
hoping to get out around 10am,      nothing till 1.30pm.       need to get out tomorrow now.
Citroen Dispatch      changed battery and it seems to have messed up vehicles computer system,     telling me to stop   fault,  hopefully no faults.

Try disconnecting the battery again, might clear the fault display.

Nicely written article there Ian. The V11 controller sounds interesting as was not aware it was suitable for gas water heaters too  ;)

We added a function that allows the water recirculation rate when in frost mode to be adjusted to take into account gas heaters.
Diesel are not dependent on the amount of flow to initiate heating. A gas heater is dependent on the flow across the heater to initiate the burner

In all cases sufficient ventilation of waste gases must be taken into account. All the WFP distributors usually have stock of the Frost protect controllers.
