photos of my van before and after my DIY fiberglass job
« on: January 05, 2016, 07:15:07 pm »
just thought i would share my experience using fiberglass on the inside of my van.

for anyone wanting to order some its £69.99 from fiberglassdirect.com comes with everything you need to do 5sm.

if you are doing it in low temps then use more hardener because it took 24 hours for one coat to dry due to the weather, also its a messy job so use rubber gloves and overalls .

the finish looks 100x better and should last forever with a little touch up here and there to make it look neat.

Nice one. I was really chuffed with myself when i did mine.

Top tip.. Get some rubber matting like this  http://www.machine-dro.co.uk/black-checker-plate-floor-matting.html   I got mine from B and Q but I can't find a link to it.

Stops stuff sliding/rattling around and protects the fibreglass

There is a sense of achievement when you see the final result! But i enjoyed doing it to be honest

Oversized bucket Hahaha!! 400ltr is fine for me, only use about 350 a day!
But when I upgrade vans in the future I would get a 650layflat.

Super job, would it be easy to do on the roof of the van?

Sorry I clearly have an issue spelling fibreglass >:( lol!
If you just paint the floor the paint flakes off and cracks when you walk on it, have a look at my before photos I just used gelcoat last time.

Not sure what you mean about the roof of the van?
