Yeah, your battery is taking charge (hence it showing ok on the 'test') but isn't holding charge

I take it that it works for a while then later in the day starts flashing 'L'?

How olds the battery & whats its usage like?
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

I am having exactly same problem at the moment. Controller is a couple of years old, batty is 5 months old. All I can think is that the controller takes a small charge from the battery even when it is not in use so weakens the battery enough for the controller to not think it has enough charge.

I've had batteries go at around nine months before - particularly the 75ah ones.

I use these controllers and they take a charge from the battry constantly even when turned off. i now have crocadile clips on the wires that go to battry and just disconet one when im not using it.

They are awesome controllers! Even when OFF they drain power.  I had to fit a switch to kill the power to the controller. I ripped it out and binned it in the end. Probably one of the worst controllers I have ever had the misfortune of using.

Battery sounds f***ed TBH.

How long does a leisure battery normally last obviously using it a lot but not had it a year yet

If it's cheap, small and your charger is basic and you charge it every night then not long.

I killed 3 leisure batteries in 18 months. All 75-95AH range.

I had a split charge relay wired up and I don't know if it was that or just poop batteries.

Current two are on the way to being two years ok.

115AH numax. Grippa split charge system.

Bench charged em 3 times in 2 years.

My electric reel pulls nearly 20 amps and my round is compact. So very happy with performance.

Take the battery to Euro car parts do a free battery test. You may have dead cells

At what voltage does your controller shut down to protect the battery ? , Have you been running your battery flat on a regular basis , resulting in knackering your battery .

A true test for your battery would be test it whilst you have the pump running to see if the voltage drops off , It happened with a car battery of mine years ago when battery was tested without engine running everything was ok but within 30 seconds of testing with engine running the voltage dropped off = knackered battery .

Wouldn't bother. They will charge it up, take a reading of the voltage and tell you it's fine. The fact that it runs out of charge doesn't concern them. I've  never managed to get one replaced yet under warranty.

Battery. If it's fine at the beginning of the day then plays up later then it has to be the battery running down. The controller is telling you it's under voltage then will turn itself off eventually. You get home, charge the battery up and everything is fine again.
That's how batteries go - the more charging cycles they have - the faster they deteriorate. The colder the weather gets the worse they become. The cheaper the battery the quicker they wear out generally. Deep cycle leisure batteries are supposed to be better than a car battery for our needs but I've tried both with little difference. Get a quality charger too.
