Changing times.
« on: November 27, 2015, 04:39:48 pm »
Something Ive increasing noticed during the last few years and from some of the younger  sector of female customers.

A reluctance to give their surname, often offering just their christian name, then sounding taken aback when asked for their full name.
'Hall', ie: bottom of stairs, being called a 'Landing'. Not a 'Hall, Stairs and Landing' job anymore but a 'Stairs and 2 Landings' Been caught out a couple of times by this, expecting a 3 story house, which turns out to be a two.
Call to say they want their 'Sofa' cleaned, when they really mean their '3 Piece Suite'.

Hi Guys

Yes the landings one is strange, not sure if an American import.

my key word is mate, if an enquiry starts with the word mate in the first sentence , then the probability of them becoming a customer drops to virtually nil.

On the plus side the move to email enquiries is quite civilised and not so time dependant as answering the phone.

Cheers

Doug
