Handy items to have on the van.....
« on: November 18, 2015, 12:26:55 pm »
Did a job yesterday  that reminded me how useful it is to have some  sort of light on the van, they were decorating  and had removed all the light switches :-\.   so I could 'nt put any lights on

Luckily £10 spent at B&Q saved the day :) anyone else got any  handy items on the van?

EDIT..... not too clear but it's a halogen light!

Adaptor plugs for when cleaning in communal cleaning areas of big blocks of flats. These are for the sockets which aren't a traditional 3 pin plug socket but the ones with an adapted top pin shape. (To stop the residents "nicking " the electricity from the general building electricity bill.)

Before satnav made finding addresses so much easier I carried a powerful torch in the cab so I could try and find housenumbers in the dark from the cab rather than getting out and wandering up drives to see if there was a number or not.

Similar to you I carried some light bulbs. Oh and a mini kettle and tea bags and long life milk!

This was a few years ago.
Newly re-papered bedroom with just a bed in. Headboard removed but didn't notice bolts left in and sticking out, moved bed just too close to wall, 3 inch rip. Lucky customer still had paste and I managed a virtually invisible mend which would be behind the bed anyway. Lucky he had been a customer a long time and still is thankfully.  ;D
