Smudger, how much do those poles cost each?

When I got mine from www.carbonfibretubes.co.uk  I ordered 6 x CFTM0D50 2m carbon sections at 59 per section plus vat.
So was less than 450 inc vat and delivery for 6 sections.

They only sell carbon fibre pole sections so no tools etc will come with them. For what they are which is nothing special to be honest. Still they seem good value in my book compaired to what you can pay for other type carbon poles and needless to say a darn site easier to use than omnivac aerospace grade t1 aluminium poles.

Snapped pretty much in the middle of the section .

The thing is i dint like the tapered poles anyway , they twist as you try to use them , particularly the end tool , in my opinion they are not really up to the job .

Crickey! No indeed those gardiner extreme gutter pole sections don't sound up to the job at all. ???

I had alloy ones to start with and they were far too heavy ,  the gutter extreme clamped carbon poles come to nearly 600 for 6 sections plus 150 for the end tool and adapter !  :o :o

The wheels obviously cost £70 smurf!!!

I suppose if you're that way inclined just get a hacksaw and a set of these to diy your own if you want a reel on wheels...Job done ;D

I assume you mean the ones being sold by carbonfibretubes?
If so nope sorry but they are black in colour, with fine ridge texture finish, 2m long, one wider tappered black end that other sections fit snuggly into. In certain light they can look grey in colour due to the ridges reflecting light. Get the picture  ;D

I don't as use a large pull down pipe box that came with the van to store them in.

The bags that come with the likes of skyvac etc are just chepo ski bags you can get local from a shop that sells ski gear or on the net including fleebay. Just make sure you buy the right length/ size bag as you will need at least 210cm to fit all the poles in.

You could also use the cardboard box they were delivered in for a while in the van I suppose too if you wanted but will be only a matter of times it starts to disintegrate when the box gets wet.

Hi Avo, Here is a pic of the poles supplied by www.carbonfibretubes.co.uk
As mentioned before they just sell the poles so you have to sort out the guttervac heads yourself.

we use the 10th section (goes onto an extreme 47 and its still modular)

http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/extension-sections-for-telescopic-poles/the-new-slx-extension-sections-10.html

Used them for years and work well, only thing we did was to replace the plastic inserts at the bottom with metal instead of plastic.

See that number 10 section, reading description says it will fit the extreme 47 pole .............. Is this rite so could extended 47 by 6' ......... And would it be that you could use this again as 2 x number 10 would give you a further 12'

Sorry if it sounds daft but I paid £200 x 2 for extentions for the 47 and am just on the verge of having another 2 to take me to 70' region

Using these would give a decent saving

The #10 sections are designed and sold as modular extensions for the Xtreme47 window cleaning pole (using them for gutters is a secondary use and not sold by us for this purpose).

The Standard #10 modular extension can be used with a maximum of 3 extending an Xtreme47
The High Strength #10 modular extension can be used with a maximum of 6 extending an Xtreme47

Ta very much  ;)
I think a bag would defo come in handy for most when setting the gear up when you have to walk to the furthest point say on blocks of flats etc.

I brought my carbon poles from a supplier direct which are modulat taper fit, I had an aluminium collar made and bonded it into the top section cost me a tenner from an engineering company

Darran

Thanks Darran  i would rather go for clamped sections though , like these .

https://www.grippatank.co.uk/gutter-lite-high-level-clamped-vacuum-poles

But the adaptor to fit an alloy end on seems well overpriced for what it is ?

https://www.grippatank.co.uk/b-grippavac-alloy-gutter-gulper-tool

Carbon adaptor 108 quid with vat ! plus 50 for the actual tool !  :o :o :o
Hi Robert - thank you for your feedback - feel free to email us directly to discuss your issue you had with the pole.

The carbon adaptors are more expensive as they are taken from a standard section and reworked, hence the cost.

You could however go for the plastic adaptor that is found in our spares section :

I use the Xtreme clamped sections from Grippa. They're excellent, don't have a problem with the sections of tools spinning. 👍

Grippa , the link you posted just goes to a blank page rather than a plastic adapter .

The plastic lightweight end tools are not upto the job and tend to spin as they are not a tight fit in the section .
