gutter extreme
« on: November 05, 2015, 02:34:56 pm »
Does anyone use the gutter extreme clamped carbon gutter poles from Grippa ?

I have the the gutter lite tapered sections and find them a real pain , the end tool twists as you try to use it and coming loose and i had a section literally just fold in half as i moved it along the gutter yesterday ......only been used on six jobs!

The lightweight plastic end tools are already worn quite badly , the alloy version  looks much better on there website but needs an adaptor to fit the pole that costs £85 +vat! :o

we use the 10th section (goes onto an extreme 47 and its still modular)

http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/extension-sections-for-telescopic-poles/the-new-slx-extension-sections-10.html

Used them for years and work well, only thing we did was to replace the plastic inserts at the bottom with metal instead of plastic.

Slightly off topic but this made me laugh whilst having a butchers on their site.
20m cable rool £92.04 plus 20% vat £110.45....They must be having a laugh surely?   ???
https://www.grippatank.co.uk/20m-cable-roll-uk-230v-nvm-155a

You can get a decent size cable reel (45m) from the likes of screwix for 31.98 or with a 5 off voucher they send through from time to time 26.98 like I did. You got to be raving bonker to buy some of gripa products methinks.

Anyway back on topic are you saying if I read it right one of your pole sections broke or was it one of those gardiner crapy heads they sell?

Thanks Darran  i would rather go for clamped sections though , like these .

But the adaptor to fit an alloy end on seems well overpriced for what it is ?

Carbon adaptor 108 quid with vat ! plus 50 for the actual tool !  :o :o :o

no i haven't done that , i think i have had them over a year , even though i have only used them about six/seven times .

they are very light but not sure they are strong enough !

the lightweight end tools are useless too

Can I ask were exactly did the section snap?

Still only using the gardiner gutter poles six times you should still raise a compliant as I know I would if I knew I had done nothing to warrant the pole section failure.

Snapped pretty much in the middle of the section .

The thing is i dint like the tapered poles anyway , they twist as you try to use them , particularly the end tool , in my opinion they are not really up to the job .
