advertising on FB, is it worth it for us?
« on: November 01, 2015, 11:45:58 am »
I been reading on other business forums that FB is hit and miss for some businesses but wonderful for others. The cost of advertising on there is not as much as I thought. Is it good for us window cleaners? I joined 2 local groups in the past few weeks, one of the told me if I make a post about my WC service again I will be banned permenantly. The other one was friendly and no problem with me at all.

Apart from posting in groups, what other way can we use FB? thoughts?

I am wary of social media and business! For all the benefits of advertising can be great it only takes one malicious person to ruin a reputation you may have worked hard for years to develop.

Only a fortnight ago I was speaking to a window cleaner that used to do almost a whole estate near me who had an issue with a non paying customer who decided rather than pay the bill they would start slandering him on Facebook. The police were involved and the person involved prosecuted but it was too late for the window cleaner who lost all the work of his on that estate.

Surly this person must have spread something bad about this shiner to cause his customers to leave if they're satisfied with his service but there's nothing to stop a nutcase doing this to anybody doesn't matter if they advertise on Facebook or not.
I take nothing to do with Facebook but wouldn't let your example put me off.

Very unlikely that a really good windy with a good rep could lose a load of work.

If posted on a business Facebook page you have the control to remove or hide posts from timeline.

I had a custy who I passed onto another another lad 4-5 years later despite passing me loads of times over the years she decided to ask why I stopped cleaning her Windows  ???

It was something bad! Told everyone he was a pervert! Word like that spreads quickly and sticks unfortunately.
