hi all,
i'm having suction problems with my twin feed ws202 pump, the front suction hose seems to working fine, but the rear hose will not suck the water it seems to to be sucking air bubbles, i have spoke to damian at qwashers and done everything he told me to, ie
replaced all the couplings, new filter, new hoses etc! and checked for leaks, found none, undone the 6 bolts washed out the pump everything, would the valves in the pump cause this problem do they need replacing?

I had exactly the same thing - all run well for over a year then air in the back water feed, I was advised to go to single larger feed, which I did and the improved performance is noticeable and been great ever since

Twin feeds are asking for trouble .
The feed at the back is longer (hose) more joints , more bends etc throws the balance of the pump out. Remember these things are pumps …not vacuums they were never designed to "suck".  A (water)  feed needs a path of least resistance.  Feed it from the front of the pump..straight as you can get …least joints as poss. Make sure the supply hose is minimum of 3/4 and all the "holes" along the way do not restrict it. Espically make sure there are no restrictions at the filter "tail" . Drill all fittings out if need be and feed it all with a head of water…don't make it suck .

Try force feeding it water with the the machine turned off then look for any drips.

Interpump do not support dual feeding their pumps.
Try as above - single feed on 3/4 " internal diameter hose. It's worth checking the pump seals and bottom intake valves to make sure the cavitation you are experiencing hasn't knackered them up.
If changing all that hasn't helped the damage will already have been done.

I swapped mine over to dual feed 
If anything it's got less power now

thanks for the replys guys, managed to sort it, it was sucking in air and like you say the rear intake is still pulling in bubbles to start with but seems to be working fine now,
i do use 3/4 inch suction hoses but would one hose be enough to feed a 21 ltr pump?

Yes single feed at 3/4 internal will feed it 1" is better.

Yes - having changed mine from dual to single feed (1" bore as per bens reccomendation)

An old but great post.   Anyone else got their views on the difference between single and dual feed on the ws202 21 litre pump?   The single feed with 3/4 hose and correct diameter weighted filter inlet sounds best for less chance of air getting in the pump.

since changing ( good god Nov 15 !!! ) not had a single issue with a single feed and larger hose ( using 1" )

Yeah that's what I thought from posts by Ben Marriott etc.   The dual feed is open to all sorts of problems with air getting in etc. Glad it's working for yourself.

I was told it makes no difference as the inlet on the pump is the same diameter so it can only suck that volume allowed.
