Crapinon that's newbie stuff mate but lets say that the rinse does act like a squeegee then what would happen if
you where using a squeegee that the glass repelled ?
Answer the dirt would still get left on the glass no matter how many times you squeegeed it, does this not tell you something.

Simply question have you tried fan jets YES or NO?

If yes and you don't like them then fair enough but if you have never used fan jets them then you can't really comment if they rinse better or not. Stop being so pedantic as many prefer fan to pencil jets but that their personal choice.

I was thinking of blowing my budget and ordering a Supreme soft hybrid with fan jets as the last time I ordered fan jets I broke them when changing from one brush to another.
As I didn't have the chance to try them with my normal brush would they suit rinsing on the glass?
I'm willing to give them a try but part of me has the same opinion as Mr K

I can always use them for other work.

I don't like them they make a mess and as said some customers do not like them, they give the impression you've got a jet wash in your hand

Yes, I have already said I use them for conservatory roof cleaning and totally agree they are a personal choice.

If you don't rinse the glass properly that's when you can get issues with spotting which is mainly on hydrophillic glass no matter what jets you use. If you have not tried fan jets It proves in the vid that fan jets rinse better also quicker too especialy if like rinsing with a wfp mono filiment brush on the glass.

Mate that video proves nothing other than the fan jet rinse pattern looks nicer, if the glass repels water then it repels water
a different shaped jet pattern isn't going to change that.
I haven't rinsed my own properties windows in years and it has some hydrophobic glass, they all come up perfect.
I think Sean's right. I prefer pencil jets because they are more accurate.

Gardiners fans are more of a hybrid - they fan but it's too narrow - lumark fans have a wide even arc which produces a strong horizontal line of water which sheets down the glass.

Here is a link to fan jets

Yes I would never go back to pencil jets, been using fans for about nearly five years, it became apparent that pencils, we're not only a poor delivery method because at high flow the water hits the glass and mushrooms making a mess and a low flow the rinse is pretty useless for proper coverage,  it is each to their own of course.

But for us, the quality of rinse combined with time saving per job Makes this choice a no brainier

Hey Darren, thanks for this.
I now have the tips and also the elbows. Two things, what size drill do you use and also a picture if possible. When i offer mine to a brush the tip seems to protrude quite far and I'm wondering if there is another way.
Thanks
Tony

I drill through with an 11.8 diameter but 12 is ok ( but you may not get a push fit. I then glue them in so you can set the amount that protrudes the bristle side, the sl does push through more than supremes, but I've never managed to get a nozzle to hit the frame let alone the glass.

Got a unit day tomorrow so I'll do some pics and post them.

I tried the earlier Gardiners fans, the clear ones, i found them just the same as a pencil jet. No fan at all really. I now use the Gardiners red  fan jets, i'm happy with them. I agree with above they've just a preference, i wouldn't stick my neck out and say either one was better. I do only use fans now though, mostly.

Darran

Sorry to resurrect this old thread.

Darran, having done a search this thread has answered a good few questions I had about better alternatives to the Gardiner fan jets...
Just got one more, which size thread is it for these connectors for the spray tips?

Thanks
Paul

Lumark are far better than gardiners

You can get them from wcw but are expensive

I get mine from  agricultural spray tips - I'll post the link later

Morning Sean - I see your usual happy positive self  ;D

Darran
Í got some spray tips from there but couldn't work out how to fit them to my brush -unless i got the wrong ones - any pics?

Hadn't read full thread,   dope

I like the noise fan jets make. I got complaints when I switched to them for windows.
indeed you will do IMO you will be more likely to upset or give the impression you are jet washing the Windows using fans in my experience customers don't like them,I found that they put water where you don't want it on domestics. The only place I feel they might be usable is on huge plate glass ie offices car showrooms etc on houses I found them to be useless.
