Faster rinsing as you can cover most of each pane in one pass.

They give the impression of a better rinse so if your a person that puts a lot of importance in rinsing
you might prefer them.
If your a person who's rinsing consists of a quick zigzag down the glass you wont notice any difference.

Lumark are far better than gardiners

You can get them from wcw but are expensive

I get mine from  agricultural spray tips - I'll post the link later

Morning Sean - I see your usual happy positive self  ;D

I like fans for gutter cleaning but stick to pencils for glass.

I like the noise fan jets make. I got complaints when I switched to them for windows.

As I said on another post I like them for conservatory roofs where its hard to rinse some of the dirt off it just gets pushed
to the side by pencil jets but even then they need the power of the mains to do a quick job.

8 weekly , what did you get complaints about ?

I tried them on my Windows first and they came up just as good as with pencils .

I bought a brush fitted with fanjets specifically for FSG cleaning about a year ago, tried it on the glass
just to see the result, now i use the fans on the glass all the time, i personally feel the fans rinsing reaches a
broader surface on the glass, and rinsing is quicker & superior, just my opinion.
Darran do you prefer fans or pencil jets on the glass, how are the lumak ones better, i might give them a
 go as-well.

He's only joking Robert  both types will do the job just as well, as with brushes its all about what you prefer using.

Do people that use fan jets find they use less water ?

I have both pencil and gardiners fan, no, I find for them to work well I need pump to be going full speed.
That said, maybe when I use on leaded and small georgian panes because I can clean them quicker than with pencils.

Actually I wasn't. The problem was me. I was using a sill brush and had the angle wrong and the spray was going too high. I use a carbon gooseneck now so it would probably be fine. It wasn't the fanjets really. It was a combination of fanjets, sill brushes and operator error.

I think this old vid gives a good explanation why fan jets are better than using pencil jets.
Each to their own though as some ppl can't get on using fan jets for some strange reason but I think they are better myself.

Its always strange how people justify using certain pieces of equipment, if the water isn't rinsing properly on pencil jets
then fans aren't going to make any difference, instead of one inch of water bouncing off the hydrophobic glass you may have three but at the end of the day the glass will still repel it.
As long as your not too splash and dash then the scrub will have removed the majority of the dirt as your also rinsing while
scrubbing, the rinse without the scrub is more of a comfort blanket that may remove a little at the end or the odd cobweb.
Hydrophobic glass is a good example of this,it repels water so it doesn't matter what you do it will still repel it, but luckily for
us we don't need to actually touch the glass with water to clean it we just need to grab the dirt and rinse it off.
The brush is what removes the dirt on hydrophobic glass as its the only thing that touches it, the shape of the jet and the rinse for that matter does very little.

If you don't rinse the glass properly that's when you can get issues with spotting which is mainly on hydrophobic glass no matter what jets you use. If you have not tried fan jets it shows in the vid that fan jets rinse better also quicker too especialy (not show) if you like rinsing with a wfp mono filiment brush on the glass. From experience I know fan jets work better  :-*

If you don't rinse the glass properly that's when you can get issues with spotting which is mainly on hydrophillic glass no matter what jets you use. If you have not tried fan jets It proves in the vid that fan jets rinse better also quicker too especialy if like rinsing with a wfp mono filiment brush on the glass.

Mate that video proves nothing other than the fan jet rinse pattern looks nicer, if the glass repels water then it repels water
a different shaped jet pattern isn't going to change that.
I haven't rinsed my own properties windows in years and it has some hydrophobic glass, they all come up perfect.
