to those who have used bossdog signwriting.
« on: October 18, 2015, 11:30:36 pm »
just had the vans done last week with bossdog after the good reviews from here.

having had a good look at the vans when we got back i'll be completely honest and say i'm really disappointed with the final product. now i know customers wont notice most of what i see in the design, but for the cost  of £1400, to me that's a lot of money and really i expected something more professional.

for instance, they've damaged the van with their tool and scratched it quite bad, they removed a cap by breaking it off then poorly fixed with with way too much foam now i can see foam coming out of sides of it, the print is poor with the lines between colours blurred, and straight lines that meet some reason not meeting so now i've got silly zig zags where colours should meet, as well as them not wrapping round gaps well at all. the fuel cap for instance i would have expected the material to go round it, but they've just stuck on top and now i can see the white from the van clearly when i expected to see just the colour of the wrap.

i've messaged to see what they say, but tbh i can't see what they can do given to fix these issues requires a re-wrap, and repair of the panel where they've hit it with their tools

Either re-wrap or knock some money off the bill if your happy with that. That's if they accept responsibility of course. With hind sight probably better to take before photos before they started work but you don't expect a professional company to damage your vehicle  :(

We had this a few years with one of the major franchised operators out there, we absolutely refused to pay for it and had them remove the decals and replace with fresh which they did with out too much fuss.

Get lots of photos, list the damage and ask for a full refund or the job re-done...let them know where you heard about them ie social media or on carpets cleaners forums and you will be letting 'others' know if's not put right. They will have insurance cover for the damage so they should not quibble too much about that.

I imagine they will want to correct pretty quick and this time with a bit more care and attention if not let the world and their dog know what a cowboy operation they are.

Adam if I was you I would delete this post.
Then I would contact boss dog and asked for a complete re-do of the whole van
and then take it from there. You need to give them the opportunity to put things right

as per neil, go through them first, discuss the problems, see what they offer to do, then if not happy, tell them your going to make it public on social media.........   doing it the other way round may make the less willing to play ball......

Why remove it? Have you lied or said anything inflammatory ?

No company should fear the truth, if they have done a bad job then  so what......... it only reflects badly on the if they don't put it right.

Nobody is perfect, every one makes mistakes, it's how they handle the mistakes that's important.

jason: funny as the design was really painful with these guys. I made a very good photoshop mock up of what i wanted, and it took about 10-15 revisions as they couldn't replicate it at all. simple things like the position of the logo they'd massively changed, and then when asked to move it to the side, everything else moved too, changed size etc. I stuck with them due to the repeat mentions as the choice for many members on here.

Why would you pay someone on the other side of the country for that design Jason? No offence but you could have someone come up with that locally.
Don't see the big fuss with this boss dog guy, he's seems massively overpriced. You could I can get a van sign written up for £300 LWB transit, front back and sides. After hearing what people are paying it leaves me over a grand to hire someone to design, you could get someone very decent for that money!

If he had started this topic to praise them, saying what a great job they had done would anyone be telling him to  delete it or  ask why he posted it?

Perhaps he is doing us a favour by Making us Aware that sometimes problems happen so we should be alert

Mike

You know why .

If Mrs brown suddenly started saying you'd messed her carpet up and leafleting all about it all over Beverley  , you wouldn't be best pleased and unlikely to sort it .

Every company deserves a opportunity to correct matters or at least have a chance to reply .

As said lots on here have used them repeatedly I think goron even made a 800 mile round journey poop happens

I went to use them a while ago and deposited I think £50, but the design really wasn't to my liking and he didn't seem to understand the brief. I had to cancel their services in the end with  no refund obviously and so I ended up designing it myself and getting another company to do it (which ended up cheaper). I had to source the images which was no problem and then send them over where they put it all together. Been very very pleased with the ones I used.

I'm not saying they are a bad company because I really don't know, I personally just couldn't get on with them. However, I'm sure they do a great job as a fair few CC's have used them.

Have you heard back from them yet?

Exactly my point Jason, Kevs van was designed cheaper and it's arguably one of the best vans I've seen.
Your point regarding wine has no relevance.

neil 47: what you've said about mrs brown doesn't compare here. say for instance mrs brown was looking for a carpet cleaner and went to her book club which she visits on a weekly basis and asked there. if many people talked very highly of a certain carpet cleaner, how they do a professional job, so she then used them to find it felt more like someone who'd just started up, not really understanding what she's asking for and then doing a bad job, it'd be fair if then when mrs brown went next to that book club that she brought it up wouldn't you say?

They have replied and have offered £100 off each van, and £50 on top as they over charged us as they took our deposit twice which i only realised thanks to this issue! tbh i'm not really happy with the small refund. They have also offered instead for us to bring the vans back in and they will sort without doing a re-wrap, but in my opinion they clearly don't understand the issue as every single part/side has an issue one way or another. unfortunately i really don't have the time for them to re-wrap and lose another whole day with both vans off the road, and if they aren't doing a re-wrap i don't trust what their plan is, and then on top, given how bad they understood the brief i initially gave them, i just think it's once again a sign they don't understand what the issues actually are.

I think i'll accept the partial refund and just look else where for an future vans.  the issues won't turn customers away and that's really my priority hear the final product is good enough, but i would in no way recommend using them to anyone on this forum.
