Guys. After starting my new venture thread and  getting some great advice and talking to Dave,I'm going to go for a course.But which one??
I've narrowed it down to the 2day ncca in Leicester or the 1day course ran by cleansmart in Notts (I'm in Leicester)
If any of you have been on either and can shed any light that'd be great.(I'm a complete newbie...only ever used Rug Dr about 5 times...Sorry Pros!!!)

go to the one that's nearest or easiest , carpet cleaning is not brain surgery they are all basically the same .

The ones i have used are,and all have vast knowledge  of cc is  Nick at solutions , John kelly at restormate and Jamie pearson

If you are thinking of getting a machine off cleansmart then do their course, chances are they will do the course for free if you purchase a machine, if not then do the NCCA, both courses are great but the NCCA is a 2 day so you will get a lot more out of it. Like has been said, it aint rocket science but there is a lot more to it than you would imagine.
Once you've done any good course you will have a whole new view on carpet cleaning.

I highly recommend the cleansmart course!
I did the 2 days Thursday and Friday this week I took my wife's big pink fluffy rug and we had a laugh cleaning it .
Derek is a great guy and does everything he can to show you the ropes on cleanjng carpets and upholstery if you are a novice you will leave there confident at cleaning most things that are thrown at you .

Worth every penny!

I've been on here since 2004 ish and i have never heard of anyone saying ,that a course they have been on, and paid for about carpet cleaning was rubbish .

With hindsight I should've used the cc training money/time on a marketing course, and just gone out for the day with a decent cc .
At the time I should of packed my job in ( so i could give full commitment to the business}and gone on the fast track program.

It's not just about going out and buying a machine and starting though is it ?
Unless you know the ins and outs of the carpet these days you can cause trouble for yourself .
What's the PH of each carpet you clean ?
What backing does the carpet have
Cellulose browning
Colour running
Is the carpet an Axminster or a Wilton
Should you use an acid rinse ?
Should you use an alkaline rinse ?
There is more to these courses than people realise it's not just going buying a machine and cleaning like it's a hoover .
When I did the course Derek opened my eyes to what went into being a Professional carpet cleaner not just "someone who cleans carpets " .

Anyone can clean a carpet but not everyone is a "professional "

Yes raj , i did the cleansmart one in Nottingham .
I have not as yet purchased a machine as i like to see what is in the market before parting with my money .

if you do buy a cleansmart machine you get a free days training course.............. the training there is very good!

Just booked onto the cleansmart course on 12th November!
Will take a couple of rugs to test the machines out. .this poop just got real!!!

Raj,
While you're still at the planning stage, it might be a good idea to see if you can get a professional carpet cleaner somewhere outside of  the area you plan to work in to take you out for a few days and give you some insight into what it is like to be a professional carpet cleaner, you may love it, you may hate it, either way, it's worth the time to find that out before you spend money on machines, equipment and commit to all the advertising you'll need.

I love vacuuming,so surely this will fulfil my cleaning urges!!!

Yes, but there's more to it than meets the eye. If you're going into this then do so with eyes wide open

Did the course.
Really informative and glad I went as it was invaluable...now have to decide on things which may cost ALOT!!!.
Some good folk on the course at different stages of starting, thinking of,or already in the trade.....i wont mention a guy who fell asleep!!!
