Resin!!!!
« on: September 28, 2015, 11:15:17 pm »
So i usually buy Tulsion Resin from Pure Freedom i was buying the 5L bags at a time which works out far more expensive in the long run.  It was lasting around 1 month for me, currently not using RO just using DI.

I have just purchased a 25L bag from them i opened it today and on my first barrell the TDS was reading it 003.....

Usually whenever i have new resin it will always go to 0 regardless.

What does this mean?  Does it mean that the bag may have been sitting a long time in the warehouse and because of that it is slowly going off but still usuable.  This is only worrying me because usually by the time i wear through my resin and it goes from 000 to 003 then i usually have about 1 week before i need to change the resin again, so the fact that i have just spent like £70 for a 25L bag worries me that it's already at 003, does anybody know if i should be worried or not i was hoping this entire bag would last around 2 months at least, but if it's already converting to 003 now, how long do you think it will be before it starts rising?

Why is Resin such a pain atm, not lasting anywhere near what it used to last year!!!

First thing you need to do is accurately calibrate your tds meter.
Then if resin is still reading 003 get on to Pure Freedom.

What is your TDS before you di and after your R O  it might be that this reading has climbed. If you have a very high flow rate with a small vessel it may not be exposed to the resin long enough. There are many factors that come in to play.

I use DI Only for a trolley setup with the 25L barrells.

My reading from the tap is 140ppm, i am aware that this is high but for now i am using DI only until i get my proper van mount done.  My point is that it usually always goes down to 000 after the DI even if my water reads at like 190, it will always do at least 10+ barrells at 000 from new, however on first barrell filled it was reading 003 from the new 25L bag i have used, so my point is that i am worried that the Resin is already off before i am using it, meaning its defective and its going to get wasted very quickly.

My TDS Meter is fine i am sure, as it read 000 only 2 days ago on a barrell i had with pure in.

If my tds was 190 I would use ro,  you must be going through a lot of resin
