Hello chaps

Being a newbie I could do with some advice...

I've just done my first ever paid cleaning job since going self-employed :). Lady was very nice, turned up to quote and she just says crack on, don't worry about price!

So for a first clean, what would you chaps charge for this house including fascia and guttering? Wasn't any fascia round the back, just a little on the side. Also French doors on the back and 4 medium sized Windows on the side and back.

Cheers

Not for sale, luckily. I feel a bit bad now you've said £35. I told her it would have been £54 but charged her £40 then £13, 4 weekly

Don't feel bad, there is no right or wrong. If the customer was happy that's all that matters. The rip off police will be along shortly!
Where in the UK are you?
You will do ok with pricing like that, well done
Tony

Well I hope she was pleased, she looked a bit taken back by the price but she's already got me another job round the corner and she gave me a £5 tip.

You've done well my son.

You price for what you think is fair, and to make a living, remember it's a business, not a part time cash in hand effort, or a hobby, and certainly not a charity. Keep up the good start

You will never ceased to be amazed at people's reactions, never ever let that put you off. Many out there will only want to pay pennies for your services, others actually live in the 21st century.

Awesome price

£1 a window , 6 windows - £6
Time 10 mins - £6 = £36  per hour

To get £13 is awesome and great play to you .

If its a individual house and a drive to then Id want £6 plus time , travel etc to next job
So be
£6 to £10 for me

Our minimum price is £20 a clean every 8 weeks.

Had someone sign up through the website a couple of weeks ago... 1 bedroom flat, 3 windows plus a front door... They are happy to pay £20 a clean... They even signed up to GoCardless straight away!

I was amazed!

 ;)

Just kidding, I try and do most of mine £8 upwards ( mainly £10)  , difficult though when you've got idiots charging £5 for every single house and front only £2.50!!!!! And that's wfp work aswell!!!

If I were starting out, I would charged £7. Knowing what I do now £9. Only a 5 min job. really small house. easy access. Easy money even if you charged £5. Could do a few of those in a day :)

To check & clear downspouts and guttering £65
To wash over guttering, fascias , soffits and downpipes £65
To clean windows and doors (one off price) £25

£155 or £90 if they did not want the guttering cleared .

Would have asked also if they wanted the front path cleaned and any patio area they had at the back whilst  there too.

Well you did ask ;D

Meant to also say if they wanted the white plastic window frames/ sills etc brought back to white that would be at extra cost too as is classed as restoration work and is not included in the standard one off window cleaning price

Regarding guttering if any joints are found to be leaking during a water test then the standard charge is £35 plus parts per coupling to replace. That’s if there is easy ladder access to do so.

Just goes to show how much value is in one property alone work wise instead of charging 6 squid or so  just cleaning windows.
If you go in cheap they will expect all the other services you offer to be cheap too so could  end up running around like a headless chicken. After saying that any numpty can sell services on price alone but the trick is to gain profitable work and upselling your services.

There is good money to be made in exterior property cleaning and many like the one stop shop so to speak.

christ you'd be putting us all out of a job down here m8 lol,to run a business down here charging £6 for houses you'd struggle to afford to live in one round here. I got asked to do a flat the other day adjacent to some houses I clean,I told her minimum £20 every 2-3 months 6 or so PVC Windows and she said can I donut more often than that please. When I told her the price she said happy days,if I clean it for a year it'll have taken you 4 years to get back the money I'd eared from it. As said this is a business £6 would just not motivate me especially the time of year we are coming into.
