I know that Blackpool and Brighton to name a couple, issued small business's a tradesmen permit allowing parking in residents parking bays etc but wondered if this is in other areas?, getting sick of 4.30am starts down a couple of high streets I do, due to being ticketed by a jobsworth warden when I went during the day.

Redcar and Cleveland Council issue an annual permit to park on double yellows during the course of your employment. It was free and had to be applied for. There is now a charge of it.

In Northampton you have to telephone the parking control office who radio the enforcement officers. Works like  charm.
