Advice Please - new employee
« on: September 10, 2015, 10:56:14 pm »
Hey all

I've decided to take the plunge and take on an employee as I'm getting to busy to handle it all myself.  I interviewed a lad yesterday and I'm taking him out for a trial day next week to see what he's like in the field.  I'm starting  him on a lowish wage til he's up to speed and he's keen to learn and get on.

Do you have any tip, tricks or advice please that I should bear in mind

Thanks in advance

Tom

Rather than you watching him, for the first wee while let him watch you, that way you can show him how you expect things to be done.

That's just what I've done . He's been out a couple of days , just watching me and helping with the hose . Think his first day will be Monday , gunna tell him to go rock steady . I'm not bothered if he only does 1 house an hour the first week as long as he does em right . The speed will come later .

Tom,

My answer on here would be far too long, but drop me an email and I'll give you a run down for our process

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience
