As per the title....

I know  it's quite a universal cleaner but anyone used it on anything other than carpets?

Yes,

It cleans UPVC really well.  I haven't used it for a while but I think I was using it at 50 ml per liter. I prespray it on then rinsing off with a pressure washer.

I have used it on upvc and hard floors with great results. I know one deep cleaner who uses it for industrial kitchen cleaning. Also I was using ultrapac renovate long before I heard of anyone else using it on certain hard floors and ultrapac is a lot better in certain situations than a lot of actual specialised hard floor cleaners.

I've seen a franchise that cleans upvc and they use a bleach product.

Hi Mike, you know my feelings on harsh and aggressive high alkaline based chemicals, just look at the ingredients on their sds, it will just dull the natural sheen from the customers upvc frames, knowing what i know about these ingredients if i caught someone using it on my window frames i would be telling them two words to get out of my property and the second one would be off, hope this may be of benefit.

I thought about using a mild hypo solution but was worried about its splashing the face work and ground,

I have tried it and it can cause problems when it drips on roofs, etc not to mention clothes and your face.

My go to cleaning product for most things. Even carpets sometimes. At the right dilution there's not much it wont clean :).

We clean an awful lot of coneys and up can frames doors etc and the best agent to use is a product called virosol which is made by a company called clover chemicals... Search the window cleaning forum  for virosol and you will find loads of posts and advice... Hypo mixes are dangerous not only to you but also will kill any plants etc it. Ones in contact with...

Cheers
