Strangely, if I'm reading your post correctly, I had exactly the same experience Tuesday with my trolley.

It's the little plastic clips inside the female hozelok connector. You'll probably find one or more broken off. At least that's what is was on mine. Fortunately I had a spare in the car. Took a moment to work out what was going on though and I got pretty wet in the process. The ones supplied with the freedom trolley only have two clips as opposed to three like most have. don't know if three would be any different though if one broke off.

If you use a controller, re-calibrate it to a lower pressure setting
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

There are a number of factors that will impact on pressure in the system,  The main drivers creating pressure are your Pump, Hose ID and hose wall expansion, Restrictions such as jets angle adapters dirt, grit or as mentioned by Dave Willis air in the system. It would be worth checking there are no blockages in the line or pump filters and jets. As mentioned by MC it could also be a s simple as a broken connector or worn o ring.

There is the following article that looks in more detail https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/article/pressure-dynamics-wfp-system-ian-sheppard/edit?trk=pulse-art-edit_btn

We had exactly same thing a few weeks ago. I spoke to Shurflo and Ian to try and solve. The first to fault find is to check all lines and make sure no air getting in. Even tank outlet. The same goes for blockages and damage to all including strainers etc. Have you changed any kit recently? I changed everything though and still had a pressure problem but after only half turning the tap on the pole hose for a week or so it seems to have dropped slightly. We hadn't changed any parts and the problem just started but everyone said its likely its one of the above.

Also, what happens when the pressure switch packs up?

It's only the second or third time it's happened to me. The last time it was on a real cheapo connector I'd used. I probably had paid about 99p for it or something silly. The one that broke on my trolley this week though, was the one it came supplied with which surprised me as it looked like it would last ages. The ones I've had the least problems with and I keep as spares in the car are Gardenia ones. They seem to leak less as well in my experience, though that also depends on the quality of the male part of the connector as well.

Glad it's sorted.
