looking for a cheap pressure washer advice!
« on: August 09, 2015, 09:02:45 am »
im about to get a contract cleaning bus stops down, i already use the wfp window cleaning system and have a 700 litre tank in the van but i want to buy a cheapish petrol pressure washer to try out as well as my wfp, can anyone recommend a cheap but half decent pressure washer looking to spend around £2-300 if that would get me anything.
i suppose it doesnt have to be something extreme as its only washing down bus stops and im probably looking for something thats just in a frame as it will be sat in the van.
any advice would be great.

I would spend a little more and get a second hand 15 lpm or bigger machine that you can use for other jobs like driveways etc.

cheers guys i did think about getting something abit more powerfull but as im not too interested in doing paths drives etc i just want something good and strong enough to wash bus stops and the path around then down for now as its only a 2-3 month contract twice a year, i have my window cleaning to keep me more than busy the rest of the year in fact ive took away my gutter clearance service because im struggling to cope with the windows, the bus stops i can do early mornings etc so that will fit in fine.
what do you reckon to something like this?

yeah im thinking for 12 months with warranty i can take it straight back if it broke and after 12 months i could bin it and get a new one at that price but if i could get a decent 2nd hand honda gx for the right money like the one you posted they may be better if theyre more reliable!

hi pal i havent got a clue just basically looking for something good enough to pressure wash bus stops and shelters down on a general clean!
can you advise what you have and how much you are selling it for.
something small and van mounted is ideally what im looking for as i wont be getting it out the van every job i do, as i say i wont be doing anything like driveways  as i dont plan to get into that line of work, its more for the usual dirt mess on bus stops etc

I'll have a quick look on the server and see what we've got on the R&D account.

Should be a few options open to you :)

We've got -

A couple of Interpump TT1512/13 Pumps I think theres also a UH200 Bar 8 Lpm pump too.
On either Briggs Vanguard 6.5HP or Honda GX160's
You'll get 150 Bar at about 12/13 LPM from them should run about 35mins on a litre of petrol from what testing we have done. Briggs is slightly better on fuel only by 3 or 4 minutes though.
No need for return to tank so just run direct on a hose lock fitting from your normal tank.

one of these would be fine

or you could buy a generator and use a electric one.

Use Pure water from your tank to gravity feed the pressure washer, will dry clear

Would that eBay washer you posted up be ok with water from a tank rather than running water from a tap with pressure etc?
