If I were you I would go back and apologise ( even though you feel it wasn't your fault )  as you don't know why the person reacted the way they did.   It could be a case of the person is struggling with some kind of problem, who knows.
Whenever I have reacted badly to a situation, and lost it a bit, I could not settle until I had tried to put things right.   They might not even appreciate your efforts at peace making, but at least you have done your best to say sorry.

That just about sums this one up. You've managed to put it in a far maor accuarte light that I did.

The thing is working with the public you just don't know what to expect. I dont like to live my life always on guard, but I do have a habit of forgetting there's nutters out there and when they behave like this fella im always surprised.

Whenever I have reacted badly to a situation, and lost it a bit, I could not settle until I had tried to put things right.   They might not even appreciate your efforts at peace making, but at least you have done your best to say sorry.

There's nought as queer as folk. Sometimes its just the surprising manner in which the series of turns pans out. There we were merrily going about our business. Not a care in the world. Turn up at the third from last property towards the end of the day and get it with both barrels from Hannibal Lecter  :o  :o  :o

Anyway, I phoned the old bird up earlier, just wanted to check he hadn't taken decided to have a soak in a bath, cuddling the toaster. Apparently she took him in afterwards, sat him down, fed him and he was feeling better.

We'll go back, but will watch things with him from now on. If it becomes a habit they'll have to organise a different way to get their windows cleaned.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. You'll look back one day and realise you handled it totally wrong  :)

I've done the same in the past - realised I was a total idiot afterwards.

When the suggestion is out of the ordinary I see no reason why asking isn't okay. Especially if he's the one who's paying.

CC you like to be a smart arse on here, your posts are full of snidey comments, despite being a christian an' all.

I would've thought you'd know that a wise man speaks because he has something to say, whilst an idiot speaks because he has to say something. Bear it in mind or that splinter will blind you.  :P  :-X  :-*  :-*  :-*

Hi Matt it's me who is the Christian. ..

I have taken flack for cleanclear ' s posts before now because of the similar name.
I try to keep my smart arse comments to a minimum  ;D

I had a guy chase me down the street when I was leafleting. Got to his door and his letterbox was jammed with mail and stuff so I pushed it all through and then put my leaflet through. I could hear him swearing as I was walking back down his path. (old guy). Then I went next door and put a leaflet through and I could still hear him shouting (very bad things) and then he came out and saw me. He was very rude indeed accusing me of putting ALL the stuff through his letterbox and he was waving his fists etc. Problem was, by this time I was nearly in tears laughing. I don't think he liked that. He was quite old and i'm guessing 'he didn't have both his oars in the water' then he came at me so I did a runner down the street. It was just like a comedy sketch, I kept turning round to make sure he was alright and he hadn't fallen over or hurt himself. He gave up after 20 yards or so.  Good days they were  ;D

Haven't got time to go through your whole post Daz but that customer told me it was okay to sort the shrub out so we could get access to the window. Your going senile in your old age dear ;)

Am lucky in a sense I only do commercial so I don't have to deal with door step dangers  ;D

Doing shop doors can be a nightmare, I always put my foot against the bottom of it whilst working coz some people wouldn't think twice about knocking ya out with it, I don't mind the automatic ones that can be switched off, I even have the doors off fully closed and I can be half way down and people try an open them ... I just stop, look at them, and ask them what they are trying to achieve ??? I say the door is turned off so I can clean it how do u expect to just push it open, ....... The replies it get sometimes makes me just stop working an say go on then open it ur self whilst I put the key in my pocket...... Then u get the odd tantrum !!! I just start laughing and move into the next window leaving the door locked until we get some order.

Working tonight doing high level windows around Liverpool city centre and fully expect a night of shenanigans off the idiots about

Why when someone tells of a problem at work every one seams to think they are shrinks, solving the situation and been able to handle  folk like experts. In hind  sight we are all smart till we get into the same situation. Things don`t just happen, I am sure Matt conducted himself well in the situation as he was there and not us..

Your right. Most people claim that this that or the other is what they'd say, but its probably what they'd say assuming they knew the situation, assuming they knew the guy was diabetic or that they knew the guy had alzeihmers. Its a whole different ball-game with hindsight, when you're not there and not being fronted out by a loose cannon.

If I knew he was hyper or hypo I would've bought him a Mars bar and stuck it up his arse ;)
