He said you were at his bathroom window the other night wearing a tutu and a pushy up bra. I guess the stalker would be you ?  ;D

We turned up today. The old boy was out on the driveway clearing weeds from between the block-paviours. As we got out he turned round, looked at us and  said 'You'll have to speak to the wife before you do anything today'. It seemed an odd thing to say particulaly as they've never been a problem before. We usually turn up, clean, leave and the money is the bank within 24 hours. So, I turned to him and said 'Oh, whys that then?'. Just wanting clarification, perhaps they'd had a problem with the windows. So, I then went on to say if there had been a problem why didnt they call?

He stopped doing what he was doing, his face turned purple and he responded with 'Because its me who pays you and if I say you should speak to her then you should speak to her'.

He got a bit up himself then and came across the drive to square up to me.  :o  :o  :o

Hi Quarter light, sorry to hear this. You don't seem to have exhibited the best customer relationship skills in this scenario. Maybe your ears are not connected to your brain. Why did you not go and do like your customer asked ? I know i like people i pay to do like i ask and not ask me "why?"  Just a thought. Its only a customer though, i woukdnlt get hung up over it there's loads more out there that don't tell you such things.

When the suggestion is out of the ordinary I see no reason why asking isn't okay. Especially if he's the one who's paying.

CC you like to be a smart arse on here, your posts are full of snidey comments, despite being a christian an' all.

I would've thought you'd know that a wise man speaks because he has something to say, whilst an idiot speaks because he has to say something. Bear it in mind or that splinter will blind you.  :P  :-X  :-*  :-*  :-*

It's easy done Quarter-light, dealing with someone who is losing it. I gave some sarky comments back to the adult son of a custy who was telling me whether or not I could clean his parents home and he started ranting and raving.

I ignored him and carried on and he got louder and louder and when I threatened to call the police he stormed off calling me a faggot to which my comment of "I certainly have Brains" went over his head and he started calling me a feline as he retreated.

Anyway next time I'm round I asked a neighbour whether the son was right in the head and he said "no, he flipped about ten years ago when his girlfriend dumped him and he's been on meds and sectioned twice since then - strait-jacketed after being dragged out the garden shed apparently threatening to immolate himself."

And here's the key - "don't take it personally" the neighbour said.
It's a game of three halves!

There's nought as queer as folk. Sometimes its just the surprising manner in which the series of turns pans out. There we were merrily going about our business. Not a care in the world. Turn up at the third from last property towards the end of the day and get it with both barrels from Hannibal Lecter  :o  :o  :o

Anyway, I phoned the old bird up earlier, just wanted to check he hadn't taken decided to have a soak in a bath, cuddling the toaster. Apparently she took him in afterwards, sat him down, fed him and he was feeling better.

We'll go back, but will watch things with him from now on. If it becomes a habit they'll have to organise a different way to get their windows cleaned.

Snap, you've met yourself.
despite being a christian an' all.
I'm an athiest. And to go further i think any one who believes in any God is round the twist.  Not that i go round promoting that fact, i just offered it as a counterstatement to your assumption i'm a Christian.

You'd think eh ? Look, i'm not being funny, smart arse or anything else.......if a guy said to me "speak to the missus before you start", then thats what i would go and do. Ok ? I'm not saying you where wrong or right, but thats what i'd do.  I certainley wouldn't ask him why. Thats me. You've done what you've did, looks like you've now lost a customer. Every penny matters to me i like to keep 'em. Do what you like...............

maybe when he said speak to the wife, you could have just spoken to the wife to see what he was on about then if there was a problem took it form there. Instead you saying whys that you should have called got his back up?

I dont know, i owuld have been intrigued why i had to speak to the wife and jsut ignored him and dealt with her

I think you escalated the problem when you told him to fack off twice. I'm really not sure what I'd have done in you're place, i'd have probably asked 'what about' too.

Problem with speaking to oldies like that is one day it'll get out of hand. Either he'll have a pop or his sons might. Biting you're tongue is hard but sometimes the best way.
