My wet vac has lost what little power it did have and I think dirt has got past the filter and into the motor, would striping in down and trying to clean the motor out help?

Yes, strip the top cover out and clean the motors up where possible and it may help a bit.... what sort of VAC have you got to play wiht?

To be fair the price of your house would probably go up... Unless you use the vaccuum to pan for gold it's value probably won't

loss of suction usualy means the filters/air intakes are clogged so look at that first.
The motors will either work or pack in so best start saving for a new one methinks

Be warned multi head motor vacs are a pig to strip down and put back together properly so good luck with that one 
Some motors you can replace the brushes but alot being sold are china crap which are sealed so you  can't replace them even if you wanted too.

tbh rob we bought one off of kev and its been brilliant, only keep it a secret from chris after watching the video and  what he did with his henry vacuum he would luv the suction on kevs

Can't go far wrong with Soteco, the ISSA are about the best you can buy but I still love the Junior 423 - very popular with flood hit nations.
