guys had a mayor downpour on thursday night so got out the meter and tested the rain drops it showed as 18,
in our area the water is 54
I always thought rain water was pure, maybe starts of pure but by the time it reaches us and went thru the stuff in the air it is up to 18
not bad if you could filter at 18 your resin would last you for ever
views appreciated

Jinky, I have done this many times and had readings from 0 to 6ppm, I have even melted fresh snow in a plastic dish and was surprised to get a reading of 12ppm
During wet spells I have had rain coming off the roof downspout at 6ppm. I have never had readings any higher than this. Was your collecting dish or whatever contaminated? Dai

TDS measure solids (Total Dissolved Solids) if the rain doesnt touch any minerals it should be OK. Dont try collecting from a slate or tiled roof.
