My Genny won't start !

I have a Loncin 6500 genny which has the key start, but it won't start on the key !     I have tried charging the battery, but when you turn the key it just clicks once !     Is about 2 yr old, anyone any ideas ?

To be honest I am thinking of buying a smaller model, maybe a 4 kva for the gutter vac  :-\

I havn't fully charged it, but it was showing half charge !

It runs, but I have to climb in the van, and break my arm using the pull cord  ;D

Only need a 4 kva machine anyway with the new gutter vac, and what a brilliant machine it is . . . . . it is embarrassing now turning up on jobs and only taking minutes !

Try linking out the solenoid if it has one to just turn the starter motor. (may not be possible on your engine)

Well I tried connecting the battery to the charger, and tried starting it, but it just clicks ( but louder LOL )

Sounds to me you need to try a new/good battery on it then see if it starts ok that's if the overnight charge don't work

Still not having it . . . .noticed when the battery fully charged is the click when you turn the key is louder !          Maybe needs a new starter motor ?

I would say so :) Sound is common in cars when the brushes, rotor, or the armature seize up.

With my old motors if the starter motor jammed I use to hit it with a hammer. Sorted  ;D
