Had my oreck looked at and apparantly the parts that control the spin are no longer available.. 
It spins but as soon as it touches the floor it rattles like mad.
Whats my options or do i have any...is it just for the skip now?
I do have another which works great but has a crack In the base so maybe i should make a perfect 1 out of the 2??

I have the orbiter XL Steve. I have looked at the options and think your right. If it goes wrong we are buggered, as this is an American machine and no one carries the spare parts

I had a problem with mine where it was shorting out every time I dropped the base down to use it...after first refusing to even take a look at it the company I bought it from (Cleansmart) agreed last week to give it a go and ended up sending it off to the Oreck Distributor to be fixed which it has been now...£95.00, however defiantly cheaper than replacing it.
