Have I got this right? Whats the best way to use UM?

you mix up the UM and put it in the solution tank and prespray with the wand or hand tool - agitate - the rinse with the same stuff from the tank.

Or just rinse from the wand without prespraying the carpet.

Or use as a prespray from a sprayer as you would with other conventional presprays.

You can use it in all those ways depending on the situation.

My current favorite is powdered UM as a prespray using a sprayer then liquid UM as a rinse.

I think a prespray of powdered UM from the solution tank then following up with a rotovac would be a very quick.I don't know that for sure as I don't have a rotovac.

UM is really meant to be in your extraction machine  with nice hot water. Others have been using it as a pre-spray, I have never tried it that way.

Just buy some citrus pre spray from Alltec, put it in your sprayer, spray down, agitate then rinse from your machine with clean water... That's all I have been doing.  Works a treat even on mingers.  If you really wanted to boost the citrus pre spray, just pre spray the citrus pre spray on your carpet, and add UM into your solution tank and rinse with it.  that's it.

Heyup Darran, how does citrus pre spray compare to SPM?
Also doesnt it require an acid rinse?

If I was cleaning 80/20 then I would put some in just in case, (I always do a tester on any carpet, even id using spm or dynamall to make sure) but all the ones I have been cleaning no issues.  Personally I think its a lot better than spm.  I have thrown  my spm away to make room for bottles of this, and also one tub of UM.  It's great, honest.   Just get some citrus pre-spray  and see how u get on with it.  I have got some pics on my facebook page, used with Citrus pre-spray.

UM is ment to be a prespray as well. It is listed under presprays on the Alltec website and has been used as a prespray for years by many people including Derek Bolton.

I would get yourself a spray lance  ... a wand is a crude sprayer and the jets are too small .

For speed on fairly dirty carpet  ...
I mix UM and a dash of citrus pre-spray in a bucket ( sometimes i add a dash of butyl glycol ) ... add about  four liters or so of warm water  and put it into the machine tank  , spray through the inline heater with the lance at about 200psi ... get it as wet as u get get away with  .
Hit it with the rotary and a red floor pad ... (i use a green on a carpet with embedded fluff or pet hair) , makes a CRB look like its tickling the carpet .
Fill your water tank with a couple of buckets , there is probably enough UM left down there when diluted ... but hell , shake a bit more in  .
Extract hot using inline heater  .
There is little to touch this for speed /result , using  a portable .

Where you get a lance to fit your solution line?
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

when I was cleaning carpets I was sold on Ultimate master also being a Pre spay but then began to wonder why surley you could do the same with any product?
During my last few years in the industry I tened to use prespays like Citrus  Pre Spay together with my power brush  in Conjunction with Ultimate Master  I just felt that produced better results
